About Zippi Fish

Who we are

Zippi Fish Surfboards exists to keep Michael Zippi's keel twin fin designs alive for surfers who want more than a retro fish — boards that are fast, responsive, and built to perform in real-world conditions.

Michael spent decades in Hermosa Beach refining the classic fish when most of the industry moved on to thrusters. His shapes earned a reputation from Southern California beach breaks to Hawaii, Fiji, and Indonesia. Today, we honor that work by preserving his best-performing designs through precision Shape3D scanning and CNC shaping, then hand-finishing and glassing every board for the feel surfers expect from a Zippi.

This isn't a mass-produced catalog. It's a legacy brand built on shapes that surfers hold onto — and often come back for again after trying everything else.

How we build today

Every board starts with Michael's original curves — digitally captured and replicated with care — then shaped on high-end CNC equipment and finished by skilled craftsmen. Each keel twin fin ships with custom-designed fins (glass-on or precision 3D-cut travel fins) so the board performs exactly as intended.
